Details

When designing the Ransom frame, SCOTT set out to create the lightest frame possible while taking into consideration the aggressive riding it's intended for. They ended up creating their strongest frame to date, through clever carbon layup and reinforcement in certain zones. And with 170mm of travel and a long, slack geometry, this rig can tame any descent. As it's a 1x only bike the width of the main pivot could be optimized, which strengthened a normally a weak point. Protecting the Ransom's frame was an integral part of the project – to that end they've integrated a clever downtube protector and implemented a noise-silencing chainstay/seatstay protector. With TwinLoc technology, the rider can effectively control the complete frame, fork, and shock as a system. From a race to a lunch ride to an after-work trail shred, being able to switch from mode to mode depending on the trail profile at the push of a lever will result in a faster, more fun ride.

The Ransom 700 Tuned features a Fox Float Factory fork and Fox Nude TR Evol rear shock both with Kashima coating, rebound adjust, and 3 ride modes with a handlebar-mounted remote. The X01 Eagle drivetrain with a carbon crankset and DUB bottom bracket yields an incredibly light, stiff system, with plenty of gearing for tackling the steepest of mountain trails. SRAM Code quad-piston brakes deliver tons of stopping power and excellent control. For handlebars, the Syncros Hixon iC combine a traditional bar and stem into a single component, a truly revolutionary design. Syncros Revelstoke 1.5 wheels are a strong footing for the wide Maxxis Minion DHF tires and feature an integrated T25 Torx wrench in the rear thru axle for trailside adjustments.
